[bg=white]A spark in the blackest darkness.. Dosetai
Just on the other side of his territory's border was the Riverbank. Though it was only steps away from the thick forest that marked the border, he did not call it his own, and on it anything was possible. He had been living restlessly in Artemis for days now, and with Spring fresh upon him, the blood bay paint could not help but eventually come to a point where he simply had to go. This was the first time in four years that he was actually making an effort to stay in one place, but his high energy levels were making it difficult, and Dosetai was beginning to get frustrated. The 17 hand athlete needed to be doing something, and so he'd finally put his worries behind him and strayed from the forested fields of his new home.
Now the land was much more open, but before him, flowing slowly but running at least up to his barrel, was the River. The smell of clean water and fresh air was enticing, and with a soft snort the white mugged bronc trodded toward the waters edge. He let himself go in up to his knees, enjoying the cool touch the liquid offered to his legs. The level of activity he exerted daily caused his strong legs to heat, and the waters felt great on them. Lowering his head to drink, Dosetai let his toned muscles relax, his single black ear, a mark in his family for generations, swiveled to watch his back- he never let his guard down all the way. With his coat shining from the sweat collected from running his borders previously, he stood in the shallows, mind set on finding somebody to join him.

There was a line that you simply didn't cross if you wanted to remain proper. Some chose to stay behind the line, on the right side of it, while others chose to leave the line in the dust with their nasty habits and foul words. Sophi, however, was better then the language and the worthless habits. She remained lady like in almost every situation, making her mother proud when she brought home stories of others making her look like a princess. That was all she ever wanted to be really, a princess. She wanted her prince, or perhaps a king. She wanted a foal to call her own or maybe even a plethora of foals. She was destined for greatness as a ruler just as her late father had been, but so far in the four years of her existence, no luck.
Now she stood in the lands of the riverbank, her chestnut coat shining bright, almost matching the sun color for color. Her blue eyes gazed over the land until catching site of another, larger equine then herself. Easily, she could tell the other was a stag, and she didn't mind. Should he choose to be kind, she would stick around. Should he be aggressive, she would turn tail and make sure to stay away for a while. Filly let out a nicker as she trotted up to the back behind the stallion. She wasn't too keen on water, so instead she watched and spoke from a distance. "Hello there brute. I'm Sophi. You are?" Boy she sure got straight to the point. Names exchanged. Step one.

His head was abruptly brought up when the sound of a friendly came from down the bank, and with sharp ears pointed forward the stallions blue eyes went searching for the culprit. His visionaries landed on the smaller, chestnut frame of a young mare. At once a smile crossed his white lips- finally, someone worth trying to impress! With a toss of his head, sending onyx locks flying down his nape, Dosetai let out a welcoming whinny, front legs prancing as a new vigor washed over him. "Hello there brute. I'm Sophi. You are? As she spoke she paused a good way away from the water, and so the two toned male trotted up the bank to stand before her.
"Names Dosetai. He replied, flashing her a charming smile."What brings you to the Valley?" he asked, motioning to the Region they were in.From what he knew he was the only herd here so far, so it was unlikely she was from a neighboring herd. This prospect was promising, and so as he forced himself to stand still before her, he hoped that it would be worth the effort. She certainly seemed nice, and he was willing to go off of that.

The fae was pleased by his actions. He seemed to understand she didn't want to enter the water and he didn't test it. He was a sweetheart so far. Maybe for once she'd found the right brute to stand beside. Maybe he'd protect her like she'd been looking for her entire life. As he spoke she noticed how handsome he really was. He was big, bold with splashes of color covering his sparkling pelt. When he finished, the fae smiled and nodded her head playfully, giving a small rear before speaking in her soothing voice. "I'm a wonderer looking for a home to call my own I suppose. And my good brute, why are you here alone. Don't you have a family, or at least another to love?" She would pry the information out of him, weather it be with her words or her cuteness. Chestnut tail swished at a fly as time passed ever so slow. Filly guessed that was what happened when in the presence of a beautiful beast such as Dosetai.

"I'm a wonderer looking for a home to call my own I suppose. And my good brute, why are you here alone. Don't you have a family, or at least another to love?" He raised a brow, but it was not in a manner of concern- he just hadn't expected her to be so straight forward. Of course, he couldn't say that he wasn't fond of it- she was giving him the perfect oppurtunity after all, and he would be a fool to not at least try."Really? Well it just so happens that I'm a man with land but nobody to share it with." he said with a soft, somewhat embarresed chuckle. He had no idea what he was doing, or even if this was the proper way to go about it, but if she were willing to go straight for the kill, so was he.
"The land is called Artemis, and she longs for a family to reside on her surface. Perhaps you'd be interested Sophi?" he asked with a soft nicker, motioning behind him across the short strip of field to the lush forest of maple and sycamores."Thats the border there. The forest is the thickest down here by the Riverbank, but it's mostly open pastures with light foresting." It was an ideal land, bordered by good drinking and bathing on one side and open fields to run and graze on the other. The land of Artemis itself was perfect in his eyes, and he hoped she would think so too.

Filly believed it rather interesting that such a beautiful, seemingly smart stallion found interest in some silly little mare such as herself. Of course, she was fairly mature for her age, though there were always moments that called for a bit of a playful reaction, or perhaps down time where a simple frolic was acceptable. Who really knew what was right or wrong for the ages these days. It was hard to tell anymore.
Sophi listened to the stallion as he spoke, respectfully and loyally. To his first statement she let a smile appear on her maw. Really? Or was it simply too good to be true. He must be lying, there had to at least be another in the land with such a wonderful brute. As he spoke on, Sophi held tight, keeping her cool when asking if she was interested or not in starting a family in the land of Artemis with the stallion Dosetai himself. Fae gazed off into the distance, eyes narrowing into slits as she focused on the border of his land before looking to him and playfully bumping her nose into his own. "Well my dear brute, I'd love to explore your lands with you and if I see it to my liking, which I'm almost sure I will, a family shall be in order. I am not agressive when it comes to power, and don't feel the need to be your queen in any way, but having a foal with a strong, handsome one such as yourself and having a home to raise said foal in for make me feel at ease. I thank you for this opportunity." She touched his nose with her own again, this time softly, lovingly even before pulling away and nodding for him to lead the way into his home land.

His breath caught in his throat as the mares nose brushed his, and for a moment he faltered, stunned that she was so willing to accept him. Of course, that moment of doubt gave way to a rush of excitement a second later, and he found himself grinning from ear to ear, prancing excitedly on the spot as she spoke."Well my dear brute, I'd love to explore your lands with you and if I see it to my liking, which I'm almost sure I will, a family shall be in order. I am not agressive when it comes to power, and don't feel the need to be your queen in any way, but having a foal with a strong, handsome one such as yourself and having a home to raise said foal in for make me feel at ease. I thank you for this opportunity." Once more her nose found his, only this time he was ready, and met her half way."I'll show you around." he said, turning away from the water to set off across the short field heading toward a thick forest just ahead.Though he was anxious to see what she thought, he didn't want to overdo it, and so he made sure not to get to far ahead of her.
The scent markings were strong, and as they p NOT DONE
