[bg=white][atrb=width,450,true]A spark in the blackest darkness.. Dosetai So much was happening so fast- almost too fast. The day he'd set his claim on Artemis a stranger had shown up warning him that he planned to have possession of all the territories by the time he was through, something that had not gone over well with the high energy buck. Artemis was his home, and he had not made the effort to settle just so that some air head could come along and tell him he was going to lose it. Just the thought of the male caused a notable bristling in Dosetais dual colored frame, and his swift walk escalated to a swift trot. He had been on guard ever since, not stepping a single toe beyond the border, shutting out the River that borders him on one side and the Meadow on the other. His boundaries were marked multiple times throughout the day, but still he was restless. In a one on one fight Dosetai knew he could protect Artemis, but what is the russet brute, Chaos, brought his whole herd down on him?
The thought was unnerving, frustrating even, as Dosetai had not left his home once to see out others, not with this fresh threat hanging over him. He had never owned anything before, and now that he did he'd be damned if he was going to let it go just like that. With a toss of his head the handsome blood bay male shook his skull, wanting nothing more than to rid his mind of their current troubles.Once he had his herd together, with a strong lead mare to look after things in his absence, he would go looking for Chaos, and he would find out just how far along this stallion was. Dosetai knew that he was not from The Valley, as the other herdland was completely empty. The chocolate male then, must have come from elsewhere, and with any luck he was just as new with his herd as Dosetai was with his own. At least he'd have time then....
A voice. It was soft and heard from a distance, but none the less there it was. At first the 17 hand mongrel toyed with the thought that perhaps Chaos was back, but he quickly dismissed the idea- the way he had simply barged in last time, screaming his arrival and announcing himself like a King was very different from this subtle call. With his head held high the red bronc set out in the direction the nicker had come from. The land known as Artemis was a beautiful thing, mostly grassland with young maples and sycamores scattered over it. It was generally an open land, the trees placed far enough apart to run and prance around while offering shade on a hot day, though toward the River the trees thickened considerably to create a lush woodland. To his satisfaction the traveler seemed to be int he more open part of his land, and he hastily set out after her.
The mare, as he came to see, was utterly beautiful. Her black and blue coat was a mixture of utterly unique color, and her frame was slender but well kept. At once the beginnings a physical crush began to blossom. He came to a collected halt before her, strong, antsy legs shifting in an endless but not unattractive dance. "Hey there- names Dosetai." His smooth, masculine lyrics found thier way to her with ease, and his banner flicked against his white rump as his stunning blue eyes landed on her own.

Only touching 15.5 hands, Ketamine felt intimidated but she knew she couldn't let that ruin her. So, she held her head high and held her ground, tilting her head only to the side slightly when he spoke. The brute was almost as pretty as she - almost. Ketamine was as vain as they come and she knew that in the beauty aisle she'd rank higher than most, if not all other equus here. Alright so maybe that was taking it too far. He introduced himself and Ketamine shifted her weight again.
"Ketamine, good stallion." She returned the casual introduction, bowing her head slightly before Ketamine looked back at Dosetai. "Your name is unfamiliar, I've never heard anything like it before." Obviously, she was trying to win her way into whatever sort of beneficial friendship that could come from speaking to so many stallions. First Chaos, and now this one, a lovely paint stallion that made her chest tighten. Psychical attractions wouldn't get her anywhere here, unless she resorted to a lesser being.

"Ketamine, good stallion." He wasn't sure if it was actually her name or the feelings the striking blue mare was causing in him, but there was something utterly appealing about the sound of it, something that caused his ears to perk forward that extra inch. She seamed friendly, willing even, and he wasn't going to go screwing that up over anything. For the first time since he had met Chaos, all thoughts of the russet brute fled his mind, and he found he could not stop living in that moment. "Your name is unfamiliar, I've never heard anything like it before." "It's Greek." he replied immediately, a winning smile taking his lips at that moment."It means Gods Gift. My mother gave it to me, as I was thier first born. Yours has a nice ring to it too."
As one could see, Dosetai was a proud equine- not overly so, but undeniably. There for, one could see with obviously visibility the pride he held in his name. He knew it meant nothing more than then what he'd meant to his mother, but still, it was hard not to be proud of a name like that."Well Ketamine" he said her name with a particular emphasis, "What brings you to the Land of Artemis? Your the first visitor I've had." He purposely left out Chaos, not wanting to bring up the arrogant hot head without need. The mere thought of him made Dosetai's blood boil, and he didn't want to seam distracted.

“Ah, Greek. It’s very fitting, if I may say so,” Ketamine wasn’t below complimenting someone, because it was only a compliment when it was true, and in this case it was very true. Gods Gift was exactly how Ketamine viewed the brute and it showed through everything he was. The rare coloring [at least it was rare to the fae] and his tall stance, he was very much meant to be a leader, a king. Her intimidation was lowered heavily as the conversation was light and easy, making her carcass relax under the once tense terms it was under. Ketamine shook her neck slightly, her black banner giving some relieve to the warm skin she felt beneath it. When she in turn was complimented, she nodded with the warm smile every equine gives.
He wasn’t boastful or overly proud of himself, a feat she longed for in herself, although when she looked at it, Ketamine was glad that she was vain, glad that she held herself up in regards to other animals and sometimes other equines. His question brought her out of her thinking and looking back at the blood bay stallion she lifted her head again with that pride she instilled within herself. “I’m a wanderer, travelling to and fro in search of a herd. I’ve had yet to find a suitable one, and through the maws of others I’ve learned that there is both a high land and a low land I have yet to see,” Of course she left Chaos out of it, unsure of the relationship between the two of the stallions.
“This is your land, I take it?” Another king; Ketamine would have desicions to make if she decided she’d like to settle down here.

“Ah, Greek. It’s very fitting, if I may say so,” His grin widened upon hearing this, liking very much where the entire thing was going. His eyes never left her form; though sometimes they lingered on her eyes, and others they drifted to her frame, he was always admiring her. When she began to tell him just why she was in Artemis, he paid extra close attention, wondering if there was something encrypted in her words that might give him the upper hand.“I’m a wanderer, traveling to and fro in search of a herd. I’ve had yet to find a suitable one, and through the maws of others I’ve learned that there is both a high land and a low land I have yet to see,” "I know how you feel- The Valley is as far as I've bothered to explore- it might be nice to check out the Highlands and Lowlands." He said thoughtfully, meaning fully what her said. Of course, there were alternative motives for him wanting to check it out- Chaos had threatened to invade, and he would like all to much to see how far along the brute had come with his herd.
“This is your land, I take it?” "That it is. Since your in the market I can give you a bit of a tour if you want- who knows, maybe it's what your looking for?" he said, motioning to the land around them. A gentle breeze tickled the young trees around them, causing thier branches to sway soothingly, casting shifting shadows across the lush grasses around them. Here the land was unusually open for something forested, and if you looked to the East where the trees began to thin, you could see the Valley Meadows just beyond the borders. The Western borders where not visible.

Again her tail flicked and she swung her head to the right, chasing off the fly that had wanted to settle on her shoulder. Insects. Disgusting things. As Dosetai spoke, she returned her attention to him, orbs attentive and easy to follow. "Yes, I've heard multiple things about both lands, but hopefully they're just as lovely as the valley," Of course they'd all have thier ups and downs, but maybe Ketamine would be happy here, settle here with a nice stallion and bring up a little colt or filly of her own. The thought warmed her heat and provoked a deep longing within her.
At his question of if she'd like to take a tour of the lands, she smiled in that horse-y way and glided forward, gently bumping his shoulder with her maw. "I would love to take a walk around your lands, Dosetai." His name felt odd against her tongue but it fell so smoothly. She felt odd, being so friendly towards another equine like this. as much as she knew about him [which was very little] she wasn't sure if this lovely friendship would last very long, even though she hoped it would - Ketamine enjoyed socializing with him. |

[bg=white][atrb=width,400,true]A spark in the blackest darkness.. Dosetai
"I have a chance" he thought, and with his banner flicking in invitation, he decided he would take her to the Riverbank- if she planned on visiting the other parts, she had might as well start from the lowlands and work her way up, and the entrance to the Lowlands was across the river and through the unclaimed land beyond."Well, over there," he said, motioning with his handsome mug to the East, where the trees began to thin drastically until they gave way to lush grasses."that's the Valley Meadow. It's freeland, but the herd grazes there from time to time. We always go in numbers though." There were many horses who may try to force a single horse to join them, but with the strength of the herd, nobody would dare to get so bold. The herd of Artemis was loyal and tight knit, and when one was in danger the entire herd did their part.
"But that's just the border; the very tip of the iceburg." Instantly he headed West, his strong legs, though itching to go, were held back to match her in a comfortable pace. Young trees were scattered across the grassy clearing, growing thicker in the distance- in fact, there was a prominant point where an all out forest took over, with adult trees and a thick canopy. It was still a ways away though, a dark smudge across the large pasture. He had always enjoyed this part of the land- like the Meadows the land was flat and lush with good grazing, but unlike it, young trees grew every 30 feet or so in every direction, thier blooming branches just a few feet above the head of a full grown horse. In the depth of spring they were just beginning to bloom, and the trees were utterly stunning. (just picture the banner)
"The land is mostly like this- open with the smaller trees scattered around. Good for grazing, good for stretching your legs." He gave a soft buck and trotted ahead with a laugh, banner flicking across his white rump. With glistening eyes he turned back to catch her gaze, curious as to just what kind of mare this was; reserved, playful, spontaneous? The land thickens where we are heading. It's the only forest in Artemis, and it borders the Riverbank. I figure we could go that way; if your interested in seeing the other lands you might as well start with the Lowlands."
